Rainbow   (I can use fine motor control)

  • Find the Rainbow page in your WEATHER LEARNING PACKET

  • You will also need your markers and crayons from your AT HOME KIT

  • Color in each of the circles on your rainbow sheet with your markers.  Use one color for each row of circles.

  • After you have colored one row of of circles, find the matching crayon and color white spaces between the circles to make a solid row. 

  • Change colors and do the next row the same way

  • Continue until your rainbow is complete

Cloud pictures (I demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Find the cloud pictures, the cotton balls and the half sheets of blue paper in your WEATHER LEARNING PACKET

  • You will need your glue stick, glue bottle and scissors from your AT HOME KIT

  • Cut the four cloud pictures apart and use your glue stick to glue one on the back of each of the blue half sheets.  Find 2-3 pipe cleaners in your AT HOME KIT.

  • Use the cotton the cotton balls to create cotton ball clouds that match the picture.

  • Use your glue bottle to glue your clouds to paper they belong on 

 

Cloud writing  (I can demonstrate letter formation skills)

  • Do this activity at Bath Time

  • Find the Shaving Cream in your AT HOME KIT

  • Spread a little shaving cream on the side of the tub or shower

  • Practice writing your letters in the shaving cream

  • When you are done, rinse the shaving cream down the drain. 

 

Clouds of Water    (I can my pincher grip)

  • Take the cotton balls for this activity from your  WEATHER LEARNING PACKET 

  • You will also need a bowl or shallow pan to hold a little bit of water

  • Examine you cotton ball- notice how it looks and feels

  • Drop in in the pan of water.

  • Pick it back up using your pincher fingers

  • Examine it now- how does it look and feel

  • Use your pincher fingers to squeeze the cotton ball to make it “rain”

    • How much water can it hold?  Can you make it rain fast or slow? What happens if it stays wet for a long time?.

Lion Face (I can use fine motor control)

  • Find the paper plate yarn and yellow paper in your ANIMALS WK 1 LEARNING PACKET

  • You will also need your markers, scissors and glue  from your AT HOME KIT

  • Find your yellow paper and cut out the circle.

  • Draw a lion’s face onto the yellow circle

  • Glue the circle into the middle of the plate

  • Cut the yarn into lots of little pieces.  Pieces should be 2-3 inches long

  • Glue the yarn all around the outside of the plate to make a mane for your lion 

 

Animal Track Puzzles (I can recreate what I see)

  • Find the animal track pages in your ANIMALS WK 1 LEARNING PACKET and your play dough from your AT HOME KIT

  • Name the animal and then use your play doh to make their track.

  • See if someone can guess what kind of animal it is from it’s track

 

Who’s Hiding (I can demonstrate cutting skills)

  • You will need the green paper and the blue paper in your ANIMALS WK 1 LEARNING PACKET and your scissors, markers and a glue stick from your AT HOME KIT

  • Draw an animal on the blue paper.  

  • Take the green paper and cut strips across the paper.  Make sure you don’t cut all the way through the paper (so it should look like fringe or grass.

  • Glue the bottom of the green paper (where you didn’t cut) onto the bottom of the blue paper.

  • It should look like your animal is hiding in the grass

  • See if someone can guess what your animal is.  Give them clues if they need help

 

Playdoh Snakes    (I can demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Roll snakes with the playdoh

  • Have a grown up carefully put a small hole in the tip of each of the 4 fingers

  • Fill the glove up with water

  • Hold the glove with the fingers pointing down into a bowl, the sink or outside

  • Squeeze one of the fingers to see if you can squeeze the water out the same way a farmer milks a cow

 

Shape Sheep (I can recreate with shapes)

  • Find the baggie of black and white shapes  in your ANIMALS WK 2 LEARNING PACKET and a piece of paper, a black marker  and your glue stick from your AT HOME KIT

  • Use the shapes in the bag to create a sheep and glue it onto you paper. 

  • When the glue dries, draw a face on your sheep.  

  • If you have leftover cotton balls you can pull them apart and glue them to your sheep

 

Paper Bag Jellyfish (I can demonstrate cutting skills)

  • You will need the paper bag in your ANIMALS WK 2 LEARNING PACKET and your scissors and markers from your AT HOME KIT

  • Hold the bag with the open end at the bottom.  

  • Color the bag to make your jellyfish-  Make sure to draw a face on the closed end of the bag

  • Cut up from the open end of the bag to make tentacles for your jellyfish

  

Sea Urchins     (I can demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Use the toothpicks from your ANIMALS Wk 2 LEARNING PACKET and your playdoh from your AT HOME KIT  

  • Roll balls with the playdoh

  • Add the toothpicks to give your sea urchin their spikes

  • Sit in one spot like an anemone.  

  • Have your grown blow bubbles near you.  Pretend those bubbles are the fish you need to eat

  • When they go by, reach out and try to grab them the way the Anemone grabs it’s food when it floats by. 

  • Is it easy to grab the bubbles if you can’t get up?

  • Do lots of “fish” get away because you can’t reach them
