  • Trace each of the letters

  • Practice saying the letter names and letter sounds while you are working

 

Train Tracks  (I can demonstrate vertical and horizontal lines)

  • Find the train engine sheet in your TRANSPORTATION  LEARNING PACKET and your markers, scissors,  glue stick and a piece of paper from your AT HOME KIT

  • On the paper draw two straight lines to make the rails of your train tracks, then draw little short lines between them to make them look like railroad tracks. 

  • Color and cut out the engines on your engine sheet.  

  • Glue the engines on the tracks.

Paper Planes   (I can work bi-laterally)

  • Take several sheets of white paper from your TRANSPORTATION LEARNING PACKET 

  • Fold the paper to try to make paper airplanes.

  • After you are done folding, see if it will fly

  • Try several different ways to folding the paper to make the plane.

Button Snap and Tie Oh My   (I can demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Find one item of clothing that buttons, one that snaps, one that zips and one that ties. 

  • Practice zipping, tying, buttoning and snapping.

 

Bleach Drawing   (I can use tools to draw)

  • THIS ACTIVITY NEEDS ADULT SUPERVISION!!

  • Find the Ziploc bag with the two q-tips in it and the black paper your CLOTHES LEARNING PACKET

  • Carefully take out the q-tips.  They have been dipped in bleach so be careful not to touch them to anything but the paper.

  • Using the q-tip, draw on the black paper

  • Watch what happens.

  • When you are done, carefully throw away the Ziploc bag and the q-tips 

 

Stringing Buttons  (I demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Find the buttons in your CLOTHES LEARNING KIT

  • Find 2-3 pipe cleaners in your AT HOME KIT

  • String your buttons onto the pipe cleaners. 

How many different designs can you make?

Can you make a pattern? 

 

Clothespin painting  (I can demonstrate a pincher grip)

  • Find the clothes pins and cotton balls in your CLOTHES LEARNING PACKET and your watercolors and a piece of paper from your AT HOME KIT

  • Drip a little bit (a few drops) of water on each watercolor and place a cotton ball on each color. (you can add more water if you need to but start with only a little)

  • Use the clothespin to clip to the cotton balls and then paint on your paper

  • When you are done with that color put it back on the watercolor and use your clothespin to pick up the next cotton ball you want to use.

  • Continue until you have finished your picture. 

 

Get to the Closet   (I can demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Take the Help Wilbur Get to His Closet sheet from your CLOTHES LEARNING PACKET and a pencil and eraser from your AT HOME KIT 

  • Follow the maze to get Wilbur to his closet

Clothes Relay  (I can practice self help skills)

  • Gather a pile of clothes (10-15 items works best)  It helps if the clothes are bigger (so like a parent’s or big sibling’s clothes)

  • There are two ways to play this game and you can chose to do one or both

  • The first way is to find a partner and place the clothes at the other side of the room in two piles..  When the game starts you both race down and put on all the clothes in your pile as fast as you can then run back to the starting line.  Whoever gets back first wins

  • The other way is to use a timer and see how long it takes you to put all the clothes on.  Then see if someone else can beat your time or if you can beat your time.

  • Twist the strips around the pencil l to create curly “tails”

  • Use your tails to create an art idea

    • Try to curl the paper around fatter things- does that change how it works?  What about something skinnier?

 

Bear Heads  (I demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Find the paper plate, the whole sheet of brown paper and the ½ sheets of white, black and brown in your FAIRY TALES  LEARNING PACKET

  • You will also need your glue stick in your AT HOME KIT

  • Tear the big sheet of brown paper into little pieces and glue them on the paper plate.  Make sure to cover the whole plate on one side

  • Use the half sheets to make eyes, a nose, a mouth and ears then glue them on the plate to make your bear. 

 

Pencil Control  (I can demonstrate prewriting skills)

  • Find the Little Red Riding Hood pencil control skills sheets in your FAIRY TALES LEARNING PACKET and your markers from your AT HOME KIT

  • Trace the lines on each sheet to practice your writing skills. 

 

Trolls   (I can demonstrate hand eye coordination)

  • Find the model magic in your FAIRY TALES LEARNING PACKET and a paper and markers from your AT HOME KIT 

  • Draw a picture of what you think the troll under the bridge looks like.

  • Use you model magic to try to turn your drawing into a 3D model of the troll

  • Take a photo of your drawing and your troll and add to your Seesaw

  • This activity is best done in a sink or bathtub or outside.

  • Spread a layer of shaving cream (like a cloud) and then use your building toys to build a castle on the cloud.  Add as many shaving cream clouds as you want to the to your castle.

  • When you are all done, rinse off the toys and wipe up the shaving cream (Or wash it down the drain)

  • Add the Shaving Cream to your AT HOME KIT- you will need it for more activities in the future

Ugly Duckling Yoga (I can demonstrate locomotor skills)

  • Use this link to follow along with the story while you move into different yoga positions.

Aiming Acorns (I can demonstrate locomotor skills)

  • Find the acorns (pom-poms) and the picture of Chicken Little in your FAIRY TALES LEARNING PACKET

  • Place Chicken Little somewhere in your room

  • Toss the acorns and see you can land them on Chicken Little’s head. 

    • Try placing Chicken Little on the floor and throwing the acorns.  Try taping Chicken Little to a wall and tossing the acorns.  Is one easier?  Do you have to throw differently depending on where Chicken Little is?

  • Using a small bowl add the orbeez and a little bit of water.

  • Wait 15-30 minutes and check on your orbeez.  They will have gotten bigger.  

  • You can add a little more water and they will continue to grow

  • Using a spoon or your hands practice scooping the beads into another bowl 

  • You can play in them for a fun sensory experience.

  • You can allow them to dry out and store them to play with again in the future

    • ​DO NOT FLUSH THEM or put them in the drain.  If you do not want to save them, throw them away.
